Four new foodie spots I’ve tried – October

The last few weeks have been a bit of a whirlwind. I don’t really know where October disappeared to, but it’s flown over, thanks to a flurry of foodie pitstops over the last few weeks. We’re dead lucky living in Liverpool as there’s always a social media buzz about new restaurants, cafes, pubs and bars that have either recently opened or everyone has remembered their love for them.

So, this post is sharing just four that I’ve been to. And I wonder why I’m skint at the end of the month! At least I can say I’ve eaten some good and got a blog/Instagram photo or two to show for it!

The Vibe, Chancery House, Paradise Street L1

A rainy Friday morning in town shopping with my other half called for a breakfast stop. We dodged the rain and ducked into The Vibe. First of, we loved the decor. So much so, I think the Mr is convinced on painting our bedroom forest green! Secondly, the food was fab! We ate around half 10 so wanted a good breakfast, so we ordered two ‘The Big One’s’. We loved the scrambled tofu and the portion size was great! I also went for the Snickers smoothie – one to try if you want something sweet to compliment your savoury breakkie!

Hafla Hafla, Lark Lane L17

I don’t know why it’s taken me so long to visit Hafla Hafla but I’m glad I finally have! Gorgeous yet deceptive venue that feels very cosy and homely, I ordered the roast cauliflower and the persian roast chicken flat bread with garlic mayo and crispy onions. Delicious! I need to go to try their roasts asap!

The Pheasant Inn, Hightown L38

An oldie, but a goodie. I booked The Pheasant for a family birthday meal and it didn’t disappoint! Everyone loved that it was out the way and felt really relaxing, gorgeous decor inside and the food and drinks were amazing! Here I ordered the lamb koftas to start, followed by the roast salmon and tenderstem brocolli with a side of truffle and prosciutto chips. We shared the crumble – we had eyes bigger than our bellies but fancied something sweet to finish! Lovely spot for a family get-together.

Federal Cafe & Bar, Northern Quater, M4

A solo shopping trip took me to Manchester for the day and visited Federal. I get why people rave about it. Apparently it’s very difficult to get a table on a weekend, but I visited early doors around half 9 on a Monday morning and I was seated straight away. Going for the blogger basic – eggs benedict with smoked salmon – I wasn’t disappointed. Great start to the day – I’d like to go back and try their lunch menu next time. Or the pancakes. Bloody love pancakes.

There we have it. My monthly roundup and it’s been great. Let me know in the comments if you’ve been to any of the spots I’ve mentioned or if you have any recommendations of places I should try!
