Frumpets, aka French toast crumpets, are my new jam. I saw the recipe below on It’s Hungry Huntley’s page and knew I had to give it a go! I didn’t have all the ingredients but I used what I had to see how it would pan out, and it worked a great!

Ingredients
- Oat milk, half a cup
- Crumpets
- Cornflour, quarter of a cup
- Chia seeds, spoonful
- Cinnamon, spoonful
- Maple syrup or honey, two tablespoons
I followed the recipe above to make a blueberry compote/jam, whilst I made the Mr’s with bacon and maple syrup.
My first attempt went down a storm and it was requested again the next day! It’s such an easy recipe to follow. There’s a bit of washing up, but if you wash as you go, your kitchen doesn’t look too much of a mess once you’ve eaten!

I’ve never made French toast before but having crumpets ~ frumpets ~ in this way, is a taste sensation! Can’t wait to play around with toppings and make some more batches of jam! I didn’t realise it was so easy to make jam too ~ something else I’m keen to do again with seasonal fruit. I think I’ll go to one of those ‘pick your own’ farms when the season is right and start making batches of jam.
Jam on toast, frumpets, afternoon tea ~ the limit will not exist with how much jam my household will end up consuming this year! If you’re an IRL friend of mine and you receive a pot of homemade jam this year, just know it will have been made with love. Plus, it finally gives me a reason to use all of my many Kilner jars!

Let me know if you give the frumpets recipe a whirl!
