The Coniston Inn, Lake District review

Last week we spent half term up in the Lake District in Coniston. It was the break we needed and this was our second stay at The Coniston Inn.

It’s a dog friendly B&B with a pub attached. This meant we didn’t need to get back into the car till we left as we had everything in reach and full relaxation.

Spring at The Coniston Inn

It’s the perfect location to relax and unwind whilst being directly on the water and walks up The Old Man of Coniston and other surrounding fells.

We ate in the pub each night cos it was easier and the menu was great with a mix of veggie, meat and fish dishes. The building sits just off the road with a huge garden to the back and its very own jetty! I can’t tell you how relaxing it was to be so close to the water and watch the sunset over the lake with a gin and tonic. Peaceful like no other.

The staff were really accommodating for Molly and dogs are allowed everywhere so we could eat indoors with her at our feet, which was lovely.

We visited last summer for the first time, choosing it as our holiday destination after lockdown number one and it was our top choice for the spring half term as we knew it would be the best way to unwind. Plus, we lucked out with the weather and it was glorious and it really felt like a proper summer holiday. Give it a whirl if you fancy a quiet, relaxing getaway this summer!
